Banks to remain shut on July 4

Banks will remain closed on July 4 as Bangladesh Bank has issued a circular in this regard, reports BSS.
The central bank also instructed the banks to open the branches which are in industrial zones, especially those are connected with apparel factories on July 2 and 3, BB General Manager FM Mokammel Huq yesterday confirmed the BSS.
It also asked banks to ensure overtime for employees for the two days and arrange adequate security for the branches.
“Banks will open on July 16 (Saturday) to make up the holiday for July 4,” the general manager said.
The government employees will get nine-day Eid-ul-Fitr vacation from July 1 to 9 as the government has announced July 4 as a public holiday.
The Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed held on either July 6 or 7 depending on sighting of the moon.
