In a bid to celebrate the Walton Federation Cup title Abahani Limited and Arambagh Krira Sangha will face each other today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The match will kick off at 3:30pm while BTV World will telecast live the match.
The champions team will receive Taka 5,00,000 and the runners up Taka 3,00,000 while the sponsors company Walton will award the best player and the highest scorer with LED television sets.    
On their way to reach final, Abahani had to struggle much in their group leg matches and also had a hard fought victory in the quarterfinal by 2-1 against Brothers Union and semifinal against Sheikh Russel by same margin.
Arambagh, besides upsetting Abahani Limited in league phase, they also defeated another title contenders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the quarterfinal.   
It will be the second time Abahani and Arambagh will meet in the Federation Cup final while first time they fought in 1997 while the former won the title defeating the latter by 2-1.
Abahani Limited celebrated the title for eight times but Arambagh despite playing two time in the final could not clinch championship for once while last time they played the final in 2001 against Muktijoddha Sangsad and suffered a 3-0 defeat.
For the giants Abahani Limited, it would be also a challenge to win the Fed Cup trophy while they could not win the for last ten years while they won it for last time in 2006.
However, both the coaches and captains of Abahani and Arambagh expressed their optimistic to win the final encounter while it would be another opportunity for Arambagh to celebrate for once the title victory in their third attempt while Abahani will fight for to bring back their glory.
Saiful Bari Titu, coach of the Arambagh and also the main architect to bring Arambagh into final while talking in the pre-match press conference was a bit tactful when he said, “Everyone wants to win the trophy, we will try to fight for it till the last whistle.”
Titu also explained that the difference between two teams will be the experience, “Abahani is very experienced team, played so many finals and also won the trophy for several times, so if in comparison with Abahani of Arambagh if we can win the match then we would be enough lucky.”
Abahani coach George Kottan said, “We have been working hard and players are ready to win the match.”
About their leg phase defeat at the hands of Arambagh, the Austrian coach Kottan, who was also Bangladesh national team coach and second time for Abahani, said, “All the players told me, ‘we are ready to pay back the bill, we are determined to win the match’,.”
Replying to a query Kottan said, “Yes, of course, we are always attacking team but as I read about Arambagh, all of their 11 players are trying to get together at their defense.”
Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will the chief guest in the final, while Zahid Ahsan Russel, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports, FM Iqbal bin Anwar Don, additional director of the RB Group will be present as special guests.
