AIMS Lab receives innovation grant of Tk 23.5 lakh
Advanced Intelligent Multidisciplinary Systems Lab (AIMS) of United International University received an innovation grant of Tk 23.5 lakh from Access to Information (A2I) Programme, Prime Minister's Office to develop Autism Screening Application, says a press release.
A project, Autism Barta: A mobile interactive tools for automatic screening of autism, will be developed with collaboration of Jatiya Protibondhi Unnayan Foundation (JPUF), Ministry of Social Welfare, IPNA, NDD Trust and other
relevant organisation to make it effective for implementation in
future.
AIMS Lab proposed an interactive approach for Autism Screening called ‘Autism Barta’, a mobile interactive, culture- sensitive, community-based screening tool for autism.
This automated screening tool will streamline referrals for Autism assessment and intervention. Community health workers (or parents) will use Autism Barta to screen children for possible autism.
Once a child screens positive, Autism Barta will connect the family with Autism resources (i.e. nearby Assessment and Intervention Centre) for diagnosis and intervention.
Autism Barta will create awareness and new marketable skills around autism in communities to enhance sustainability. Autism Barta also uses telecommunication networks to transfer data for referral, assessment and monitoring.

Academic council meeting held at Gono Bishwabidyalay
The 13th academic council meeting of Gono Bishwabidyalay was held at the conference room of administration building yesterday, says a press release. Vice-Chancellor Mesbahuddin Ahmad presided over the meeting.
The members of the meeting discussed on different issues, including  minutes of the 12th academic council meeting, amendment of four year Bachelor Degree Ordinance-2009, several syllabus review and approved.
Academic council member Nurul Islam MP, Trustees of Gono Bishwabidyalay Professor Abul Qasem Chowdhury & Professor Altafunnesa, Gono Bishwabidyalay’s Pro vice-Chancellor Md Delwar Hossain, Registrar Md Delower Hossain and other high officials of the university, were present among others.
