Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has proposed Taka 2,083.35 crore budget for 2016-17 financial year (FY17), reports BSS.
Out of the total allocation, Tk 948.25cr will come from the city corporation's own source including Tk 480cr from holding taxes.
DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq yesterday made the announcement in a city hotel where the corporation's Chief Executive Officer Mesbahul Islam and senior officials were present.
During his announcement, Annisul said, "Holding taxes is the key component of own source. So, DNCC expects that 50.6 per cent of total revenue will come from holding taxes."
Apart from this, DNCC expects to earn taxes and revenue from sources including trade licences, markets and cattle markets, he added. He also said the allocations will be spent on salary and allowances Tk 135 cr, water, power and electricity Tk 51.50cr, waste management Tk 46.90cr etc.
