A newspaper vendor was killed as a private car ran him over at Banani in the capital yesterday evening, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Siam, 18, son of Abdul Hannan of Jagatpur village in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur district.
Witnesses said the speeding private car knocked Siam down while he was crossing a signal near Chairman Bari around 7:30pm, leaving him injured.
He was whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
In-charge of DMCH Police Camp Inspector Mozammel Haque confirmed the incident.
