Bangladesh will decide their stance in ICC on the pressing issue of the Two-Tier System in Test cricket, says Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Shujan.
“A presentation on cricket structure had been given in the last board meeting of ICC. A working group has been working on it. Hopefully the more detail will be known in the meeting. Then we will decide what will be our position,” said Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, who will fly for Dubai today to attend the ICC meeting.
“We have no specific preparation about it. Our communication is being done with other boards to know their stance. At the same time, ICC brought some changes in the proposal. Finally we will fix our position after getting the present tuning and changes,” Shujon told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday.
On the other hand, BCB CEO said that they are talking with the concerned clubs and players to solve the due payment before the Eid vacation.
“In face, we have communicated with the clubs coupled with concerned players. We’ll try to resolve the matter as early as possible through proper auditing on the arrears of the payment,” Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said.
“Some clubs meanwhile communicated with us. Some clubs paid their payment as per their commitment. Our communication is being done with those who are yet to clear their players’ payment. We are trying to resolve the matter as early as possible,” Chowdhury also said.
“We will do our utmost effort to resolve the matter as per the contractual terms between players and clubs so that they could get their payment,” he said, adding “I don’t mention particularly any club’s name. The matter is now under process. Hopefully all the clubs will clear their arrears of the players’ payment in due course.”
Iterating the board stance regarding the players’ payment, the CEO said that the board will be forced to take stern steps if the clubs didn’t clear players’ payment as per the commitment.
