Taskin likely to miss 3rd ODI

Sports Reporter

Young leg-spinner Zubaer Hossain Likhon is likely to replace promising pacer Taskin Ahmed as Bangladesh would have to break the winning combination for the third and final ODI match against India. The same eleven played in the last two matches as Bangladesh won the historic win in the second match to seal the series on Monday.
It was learnt that Taskin who got a side strain during the second match, looks doubtful for starting the match.  19-year-old Zubaer joined with the 14-men Bangladesh one day squad and took part in the team’s intense practice session. The young leg-spinner played two ODIs against Zimbabwe and taken four wickets to date with the best figure of 2-41.
“The team management wanted to increase Tigers’ bowling variation ahead of the last match. So, we have taken Zubair in the squad,” Faruque Ahmed, chief selector of BCB, explains the cause of Zubair’s inclusion in the squad. Bangladesh currently lead the three-match ODI series 2-0.
In another development, it was learnt that all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad, who missed the series against India due to injury, is expected to return to the squad in the upcoming home series against South Africa.
