ASI killed in road crash

A police officer was killed as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit his motorcycle at Bijoynagar in Sadar upazila of Laxmipur yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as M Kamal Hossain, an assistant sub-inspector at Laxmipur Police Lines, from Sidhuchi village in Sadar Dakkhin upazila of Comilla district.
Assistant police super (Circle) M Nasim Miah said the three-wheeler crashed into the bike of Kamal in the area at noon while he was going to Ramganj for official work. He was first taken to Sadar Hospital and then to Central Police Hospital in the capital. Later, the ASI was shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to injuries around 10:30pm.
