Muggers snatch Tk 5 lakh from NGO official

Muggers injured an NGO employee by firing gunshots and took away Tk 5 lakh from him in the capital’s Hazaribagh area yesterday, reports UNB..
The injured was identified as Saiful Islam Murad, 30, administrative officer of Manabik Sahajya Sangstha (MSS), an NGO.
Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said Saiful was going to Kamrangichar office of MSS from Dhanmondi by a private car.
When he reached near Hazaribagh Glass Factory at around 12:00 pm, a group of muggers, numbering 4-5, riding on two motorbikes stopped his car.
The gangsters fired gunshots targeting Saiful’s right leg and fled the scene snatching the bag he was carrying. The bag contained Tk 5 lakh.
Later, the injured was rushed to DMCH.
