An anti-smuggling squad of the BGB seized 2,132 pieces of torchlight from Amrakhali area on Jessore-Benapole highway Wednesday night. The seized torchlight, valued about Taka 17 lakh, were smuggled into Bangladesh from India evading government’s tax, the BGB sources said. Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, 26 Battalion Commander of Jessore BGB, led the patrolling team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and seized the contraband torchlight in an abandoned condition from the area.
