Madrasah student shot dead by friend

A madrasah student was shot to death allegedly by his friend over previous enmity in Akua Chourangi Mour area in the district town on Wednesday night.
The victim was identified as Tawhidul Islam Taru, 17, son of Sirajul Islam of the area. Taru passed Dakhil examination this year, police said.
Quoting local people, Qamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said, Taru’s friend Shefayet Ullah-Bin-Nasir, a resident of the same area, had called him at his house at around 7.00pm. At one stage, Sefayet opened fire at Taru, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police also recovered the pistol used in the killing from the house of Shefayet, the OC said. Primarily police suspected that the killing might have occurred over previous enmity.
