Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith today said the existing gas crisis would be solved by 2018 as the government is providing all-out efforts to solve the crisis, reports BSS.
“We expect that Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) import should be easier by the end 2018,” he said.
The minister was addressing a meeting with Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) leaders at the ministry conference room in the city. President of FICCI Rupali Chowdhury led the team.
Muhith noted that the LNG terminal is being constructed for importing gas to solve the present gas crisis.
Rupali Chowdhury underscored the need for solving gas crisis, increasing the electricity transmission line and developing further technology to attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
During the meeting, the chamber suggested for withdrawing the government proposal of enhancing the deposit money for submission of the appeal to concerned VAT authority from 10 per cent to 50 per cent.
