Three brothers died as they got stuck in mud following the collapse of an embankment on the bank of the Meghna River at Nalaer Char in Hatiya upazila yesterday. The deceased were identified as Riyaz, 9, Zia, 8, and Rahat, 6, sons of Hasan Ali, a resident of Karing char under Nalaer Char union. Anower Hossain, uncle of the victims, said the three minor boys were seen anywhere on Monday afternoon after they went out of their home for catching fish at Nogarpara. Family members looked for them at many places, but could not trace them, said Anower. Mohammad Nurul Huda, OC of Hatiya police station, said local fishermen found their bodies on the riverbank yesterday afternoon. On information police went to the spot and recovered the bodies.
