No Eid special trains

Like last few years, no special trains on Rajshahi-Dhaka route will be operating during the Holy Eid-ul- fitr this year.
As a result, passengers willing to travel on trains during the Eid-vacation have become disappointed. Western Zone railway sources in Rajshahi, said on Rajshahi-Dhaka and Dhaka-Rajshahi route, three sets of trains known as Silk City, Padma Express and Dhumketu Express trains are in operation.
As a result, three sets of trains are now operating in this route no special train during the Eid-ul-fitr was introduced.
ABM Bazlur Rashid, public relation officer of Western Zone railway, said due to shortage of manpower, locomotives and train bogies they could not start Eid special trains this year also. But he hoped that within a short time, they will overcome those problems and try to start Eid special train from Eid-ul- Azha.
However; he added that the railway authorities will add extra compartments with all intercity trains to ease the trouble of the passengers.
However; a new eye-catching train of Red and Green colour combination with 13 bogies has been reached Rajshahi station via Syedpur and Dhaka railway station on June 18, as a part of road trail. The railway authorities informed that bogies of the new train will be attached with three seats trains on Rajshahi-Dhaka-Rajshahi route, which will start on June 25. Thinking the passengers problems, the railway authorities decided to increase the compartments of three trains ahead of Eid-ul-fitr, Rashid added.
It is learnt, the old compartments of Silk City, Padma Express and Dhumketu Express will be changed recently and a total of 12 extra bogies will increase on every train.
