From June 12 to 17, the 4th Chi-na-South Asia Expo (CSAE) was held in Kunming. Let’s hear what businessmen from South Asian coun-tries had to say about their experienc-es.
Bangladeshi exhibitor Mujiahidul said that as the CSAE becomes in-creasingly known in his country, its appeal to Bangladeshi businessmen is growing. He also said that if China and Bangladesh were linked by a highway or railway, he believed more businessmen would come to the ex-hibition and there would be a greater variety of exhibits.
Uday Gherwada, an exhibitor from India, participated in the CSAE for the first time. He hoped he could get acquainted with businessmen from other countries and regions through the CSAE. This year, Uday had two booths at the CSAE. He looked forward to finding agents in China through the event and expand the market for his products.
Pakistani exhibitor Auash Sultam learned of the CSAE through his brother. Each year, His brother at-tends the CSAE and has experienced good sales. This year, his brother ex-panded his presence at the exhibition, so Auash Sultam came along to help. Auash Sultam said that China and Pa-kistan are good partners with an iron-clad friendship. Today, in Pakistan, construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is in full swing. Against such a backdrop, the partic-ipation of Pakistani exhibitors in the CSAE further strengthens economic ties between China and Pakistan, and further deepens the friendship be-tween the two countries.
Although this year was the first time Sri Lankan exhibitor Aruna Kurukulasuriya attended the exhibi-tion, he learned about the CSAE very early through websites and friends who had attended previously. He said that commodities, especially arts and crafts, are also cultural vehicles, and he believes that mutual understand-ing between the two peoples will be enhanced and friendship between the two countries will be deepened through the buying and selling of goods.
Reesha Rasheed, marketing exec-utive at the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation, said that Yunnan is a major tourist des-tination in China and the Maldives and Yunnan complement each other in terms of tourism resources. She came to Kunming hoping to present the Maldives as a tourist destination to the people of Yunnan. She believes an advantageous platform, such as the China-South Asia Expo, helps to promote cooperation in tourism be-tween the two sides.
