Head priest gets death threat

Head Priest of Tangail Chhoto Kalibari Temple Subod Chakraborty received a death threat over phone on Monday night. He later filed a general diary (GD) with Tangail Police Station yesterday noon. The threat made by an unknown caller has caused panic among people of minority community in Tangail due to the recent targeted killings of Hindu priests in Jenidah, Pabna and other places. OC of Tangail Model Police Station Nazmul Hoque confirmed that a GD was filed over the death threat. The OC said that some unknown persons threatened head priest Subod Chakraborty on Monday night by calling on his mobile phone. The priest hails from Soto Binnayafoir village under Tangail Sadar Upazila. But he lives in Tangail town at a rented house.
