Man get life on charge of rape

A court in Tangail yesterday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment and fined him Tk 10000 in the case for abduction and rape of a minor girl. The convict is identified as Uzzal, 20, son of Ala Uddin, of Paikpara village of Klaihati upazila. According to the prosecution, Uzzal abducted a girl of class four of the same village on 15 April, 2015 and raped her. Police rescued the girl from Panchagarh after filing of a case by the victim’s mother. Police submitted chargesheet against Uzzal, his friend Farhad and his relatives Mariam and Hakim. After examining witness and documents, District Judge of Women and Chil­dren Repression Prevention Tribunal Sharif Uddin Ahmed pronounced the verdict.
