Just two batsmen and as many bowlers from Bangladesh were featured in the top 20 of the ICC ODI batsman and bowling rankings which was released on Monday. However Shakib Al Hasan retained the top all-rounder position in the ODI cricket even though Bangladesh didn’t play any limited over game since the November.
Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim and makeshift ODI opener Soumya Sarkar took 19th and 20th place with same number of rating points (661) in the batsmen’s ranking after both of them moved up one place. Soumya’s rating point of 661 is the best in his career as of now.
Left arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan retained his fourth position in the bowling ranking but lost some rating points. Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is the other bowler from Bangladesh to manage a place in top 20. He is in 16th position at the moment.
Since Bangladesh weren’t playing any ODI cricket, other all-rounders had the chance to leapfrog Shakib in ICC ODI all-rounder rankings. But to his fortune, no one yet can threaten his place. Shakib comfortably led second placed Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez by 53 rating points.
