Bangladesh Bank (BB) has included transgender people in the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programme of the country’s banking sector, reports BSS.
“The expenses for improving the living standard of the state recognised transgender population would be considered as CSR activities”, the central bank in a circular said yesterday.
In a separate circular, BB also said the spending for creating social awareness about preventing corruption and supporting honesty and integrity would also be considered as CSR activities.
BB asked managing directors and the chief executive officers of all scheduled banks to follow the directive.
