Senior Journalist and member of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) Santosh Mandol died of a massive heart attack at a hospital in New York of the USA yesterday. He was 50, reports BSS.
A family source confirmed his death news saying Mandol breathed his last at a Brooklyn Hospital at around midday on Monday as he was being treated there after a massive cardiac arrest. Mandol, made his debut in the profession as a reporter in daily Sangbad in early 1990s after obtaining his post graduation degree in history from Jahangirnagar University, where he was a student of 16th batch. He later served as a senior reporter and acting chief reporter of the private TV channel Channel -i, the Daily Sun and an online news portal before leaving Dhaka last year.
Mandal left behind his wife, a son, a daughter, a brother and a host of relatives, admirers and colleagues and friends. According to the family members the body was expected to be flown home on Thursday.
