UGC increases 75pc research outlay for public universities

University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh has increased budgetary allocation for research work of public universities by 75 per cent with an allocation of Taka 28.37 crore, said a UGC release in the capital yesterday, reports BSS.
The Commission has allocated the amount for research work in 34 public universities in 2016-17 fiscal while the budgetary allocation by the UGC for research work of 32 public universities in 2015-16 fiscals was Taka 16.24 crore. UGC has increased the allocation for research due to government's priority in this sector which will increase the scope of research activities.
