KERANIGANJ: Two sauce factories here on Sunday were fined Taka five lakh by a mobile court in two separate drives on charges of various irregularities, reports BSS. The court, led by executive magistrate Tohid Elahei of Dhaka district administration, conducted the drive in the “Ahmed Food Products” at Borisur Bazar area in Keraniganj upazila and fined the factory owner Taka 2 lakh for producing tomato ketchup mixing chemical powder, barley and
different colour in unhygienic condition. In another drive in the “Basher Morroba Ghar” at Dakhin Mandhail area under the same upazila, the court also fined the factory Taka 3 lakh for producing sauce by mixing chemical with the pumpkin adding sugar in unhygienic condition, the court sources said.
