Man jailed for life for murder of stepmother in Bagerhat
Bagerhat: A court here yesterday convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for killing his stepmother in Sadar upazila last year.
The convicted was identified as Faruk Sheikh, 30, son of Mokshed Sheikh, a resident of Kartikdia village of the upazila.
The court also fined him Tk 20,000, by default, six months more imprisonment.
According to prosecution, Hasina Begum, wife of Mokshed, was beaten to death by her stepson
Faruk over a family feud on July 5, 2015.
