India not ready to throw the towel: Ashwin

Sports Reporter

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin insisted that they would play like a free birds despite being on the knife-edge of a whitewash against the below ranked Bangladesh.
He said India was not as flamboyant as in the past but they would not leave any stone unturned in the third and final game of the series.
“You can’t take any credit away from Bangladesh for starters. They’ve played some really good cricket. It looks like they own this particular ground here. They know what needs to be done,” Ravichandran Ashwin told the reporters yesterday.
“We definitely come against a wall where in a team really knows what they are doing. I think we should be honest in admitting the fact that we haven’t played very flamboyant cricket. And we have not come out of a shell. But as a whole, the dressing room atmosphere hasn’t been short of anything in the past.”
“I think we are used to the fact that we do lose a few and we win a lot. So going into this game, we really got to free the birds up and try and play as positively as we can,” he added.
The spin spearhead said that the match will be the last game of their season and that they want to finish it with victory.
“A win that’s what we can do. Everybody’s good enough it’s not like we are looking to pick on anybody in or outside the team like people would like us to do. Really a win is what we would like to achieve. It’s the end of the season for us so if we can cap it off with a win, it would be good. We have had a good season to be honest, we have won more than 75 per cent of the games in the last season and that’s what we are looking to continue,” the all-rounder, who is now No. 3 Test all-rounder in ICC rankings, wishes.
Considering the current improvement of Bangladesh cricket, the 28-year-old off spinner said that they will try to comeback in the game though it will be very difficult for them at this situation but they can’t throw the towels in the sky.
Showing respect for Mustafizur Rahman, who dealt a heavy blow to the world best batting line-up of India, Ashwin said that they have play their excellent and solid cricket to beat him in the field.
“ We have to come out there and play some good and solid cricket and try and make sure to nullify the fact. He does play a good cutter, we have to watch out for. We have to give him the respect as well. Respect is what is important in international cricket,” he opined.
“He is a good bowler, you cannot take the respect away from him. You cannot deny what he has done. He is a bowler that’s come into the scene, I am also happy for him. But I think the challenge starts here for him. As an international cricketer I would know it much better than anybody else. The challenge starts here. People are going to watch out for him,” he added.
