Illegal utility lines to be cut down at Ctg hills

The administration has decided to disconnect all the illegal electricity and gas lines at hills and to stop activities of all kinds of Non-government Organisation (NGO) services.
The decision has been taken in a meeting of Hill Management Committee yesterday held at Chittagong Divisional Commissioner’s Conference Hall.
Md Ruhul Amin, Chittagong Divisional Commissioner, pronounced the decision in the meeting while additional divisional Commissioner Mamunur Rashid, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbah Uddin, Director of Department of Environment Mukbul Hossain, Azadur Rahman Mollik, Deputy police commissioner (North) Poritosh Gosh, Bangladesh Railway estate officer (East Zone) Jashim Uddin were present among others.
In the meeting it was also decided that Chittagong district administration with the help of Chittagong City Corporation will evict the illegal grabbers from hills and to stop ongoing hill cutting activities.  
Several thousands of people live at the foot and the slopes of hills in the Chittagong city amid at high risks of landslides during the rainy season.
Every year local administration takes many measures to evacuate the people reside in hills foot and slope in the season.
Many people died in landslides but people started living at hills foot and slopes again with risks.
