Law enforcers are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the huge arms and ammunitions which were seized from a cannel in the capital’s Uttara even after seventy two hours.
They also yet to seize the mysterious luxurious jeep which had carried the arms and ammunition, said police officials who were investigating on it. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Miah yesterday claimed that the huge arms and ammunitions were stored to capture the state power illegally and to create anarchy.
He made this remark while addressing a press conference at DMP Media and Public Relations Centre in the capital yesterday.
He also claimed that it was a part of the deep rooted conspiracy and it was not works of any ordinary criminals.  Those who want to create anarchy in the country, they stored the huge amount of deadly arms, and he said adding that if the arms were not seized, there might be a big anarchy in the country.  
Those who created anarchy, and were involved in arson attacks in the past across the country to step down the government, they stored the arms to capture power illegally and for carrying out destructive activities, said the DMP boss.
Replying to a question, he said, police also uses such types of arms but the name of the manufacturing country was written in the arms of police, he explained. But no name of manufacturing country on the seized arms, and there were only serial numbers on these arms, he added.  
When asked how the huge amount of arms have been carried out despite the police cheek post, he said, there is nothing named full proof security. In all security system, there are also some laps, he added.
During the drive on Saturday, the law enforcers seized arms and ammunition, including 95 foreign pistols, two local pistols, 221 magazines of pistols, 263 magazines of light machine gun (LMG), over 1,060 rounds of bullets of small 7.62 and 9mm pistols, and 10 bayonets from the canal, according to Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Uttara zone) Bidhan Tripura.
