Father kills daughter in Cnawabganj

A father allegedly killed
his two-year-old daughter
at Ajaipur under Chapainawabganj municipality yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Mahia Mahbuba, daughter of Mahbub Hasan Babu, 27, of the aforesaid area.
Police quoting local people said Mahbub and his wife Yasmin Begum divorced about one month ago, after fiver years of marriage. Yasmin left their daughter with Mahbub during leaving the house.
Yesterday morning while Mahia was sleeping with her grandmother Mahbub took Mahia to his room. Hearing a sound Mahbubs mother rushed to his room and found Mahia lying dead on the floor. Mahbub fled away after the incident and returned home again in the afternoon. Local people held Mahbub when he returned home and handed him over to police.
OC of Sadar Police Station Mazharul Islam said the body had an injury on the head. A stone which was supposed to be used for killing was
recovered from the spot, he added. Referring to the local people the OC said Mahbub was mentally imbalanced.
