‘Recruitment of female police in 10pc quota underway’

The process of recruiting female sub inspector- SI- (unarmed) in 10 percent quota in Bangladesh Police is underway and some 9,079 female police are now serving in different capacities in the department, reports BSS. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told this in the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday while replying to a question from treasury bench member Pinu Khan. The minister said the government in the current financial year appointed 26 female assistant superintendent of police under Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre and 1,179 constables. Asaduzzaman Khan informed the House that the government has given promotion to 64 female police officers from various levels from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
