Chittagong: A case was filed against 50 people, including some local Awami League leaders and activists, for attacking policemen during their drive to arrest an accused of a murder case in Sitakunda upazila, reports UNB. Baroiardhala union AL general secretary Ismail Siraji was made prime accused in the case. Sub-inspector of Sitakunda Police Station Sujoy Kumar Majumdar filed the case against 48 named people and 70-80 unknown ones with the police station on Saturday night. According to the FIR, when a police team of the police station launched a drive at Mohalanga village in Sitakunda upazila on Friday to Ramjan, an accused of a murder case, followers of Ramjan attacked policemen and attempted to snatch firearms from them.
