All-rounder Suhrawardi Shuvo returned home from hospital yesterday noon after being stayed at the close observation for twenty four hours.
His physical condition is stable now. He will go for a medical check-up after seven days.
In this regard, BCB sports physician Dr Mohammad Manirul Amin said that they have tried all the means to determine the gravity of his injury.
“We’ve done all to save him from the blow. Now he is out of danger and his physical condition is stable. The medical team of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB will examine him tomorrow. Thereafter, the next course of action will be determined for him,” said Dr Amin.
On the stroke of the third round Super League match between Abahani Limited and Victoria Sporting Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday, Shuvo was hit by a bouncer of fast-bowler Taskin Ahmed while trying to avert the third delivery of the 25th over.
After being struck on the lower right side of his neck, he then lied on the pitch removing his own helmet. Therefore, he was immediately taken to hospital considering the gravity of the injury.
Following the prompt MRI and CT scan, he was declared out of danger by neurosurgeon of the Apollo Hospital on Saturday. But he has been kept under observation for 24 hours as precautionary measures.
