Four injured in BCL factional clash at Ctg College

Four Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men were injured in a factional clash of the pro-Awami League student organisation at Chittagong Government College yesterday.
The clash erupted on the college campuses in the last two days over welcoming the admission seekers. The injured were identified as Naimul Azam, Kademul Islam, Konik Barua, Jamal Uddin.
Among the two units, one unit took position at Gani Bakery circle and other unit on college premises yesterday.
The clash erupted when one group known as follower of ABM Mohidduin Chowdhury, former mayor and president of city unit Awami League (AL) took position on college premises while other group known as follower of AJM Nasir Uddin, mayor and secretary of city unit (AL), entered college at 2pm with chanting slogan and tried to obstacle another, said eyewitness. Over the incident a tense situation was prevailing in the college and Chawkbazar areas and the admission seekers trapped inside of the two colleges Chittagong Government College and Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College. Chawk Bazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aziz Ahmed told The Independent, “Incident of chase and counter-chase took place between the two groups of BCL of Chittagong College unit. Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the two groups.
 “Admission activities for XI have been completed uninterruptedly. The clash between the two groups of BCL did not play any impact on the admission activist,” said Jesmin Akhter, principal of Chittagong Government College.  
On Saturday at least three BCL men were injured as the two groups engaged into clash over welcoming the admission seekers. The activists of a fraction of the college unit were welcoming the admission seekers inside the campus while another groups entered the campus chanting slogans. Trying to barrier each other the clash erupted between the two groups one is known as flower of ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former mayor and president of City unit Awami League (AL) and other unit is known as follower of AJM Nasir Uddin, mayor and secretary of AL city unit.
