‘Community clinics effectively providing health services’

RANGPUR: The community clinics have been playing epoch-making role in providing essential health services effectively to rural people and ensuring safe pregnancy, maternity to prevent maternal and neonatal deaths, reports BSS. Health experts expressed the views at a ceremony arranged for launching a Community Clinic at remote Kuthir Char village under Bamondanga union in Nageswari upazila of Kurigram district on Wednesday afternoon. Nageswari Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr GRM Moksedur Rahman attended the function and formally inaugurated activities of the Community Clinic as the chief guest.
With Bamondanga union Chairman Mainul Hoque Prodhan in the chair, land donator Abul Hossain, Sanitary Inspector Pabitra Kumar, Health Inspector Golam Mostafa and Community Health Care Providers (CHCP) Asaduzzaman addressed among others.
Members of the community clinic managing committee, CHCPs, volunteers, health service providers, health assistants, public representatives, pregnant women and mothers and local elite of the remote char area were present.
The speakers discussed the government’s community clinic vision for ensuring health services to rural people including mothers, pregnant women, babies and children and responsibility of the community clinic managing committees, CHCPs and others.
Health Inspector Golam Mostafa narrated the successes already achieved in providing health services by the community clinics and described responsibilities of the community clinic managing committee members, CHCPs and their proper coordination.
In his speech, the chief guest disseminated knowledge on importance of ensuring essential health services for common people, safe pregnancy and safer maternity and safe delivery at community clinics with better maternal and neonatal health services.
He asked the CHCPs, health volunteers and all concerned for sensitising and motivating the common people of the remote char area in availing the essential health services at the community clinic to ensure safe pregnancy, safe delivery for safe motherhood.
