Lightning kills two children

Two children were killed by lightning in Melandaha upazila of the district yesterday afternoon. The victims were identified as Abdul Alim, 8, son of Ramzan Ali and Rayhan Siddik, 7, son of Ful Miah, of Dewlabari village under Nangla union of the upazila. Police quoting local people said lightning followed by a rain hit the duo while they were playing at a field nearby their home at around 3 pm. They were rushed to Melandaha upazila health complex where the attending doctor declared them dead. Nangla Union Parishad Chairman Kismat Pasha said Alim and Siddik were students of a local madrasah.
