Sonali Bank, Bima win in hockey league

Sonali Bank scored four goals in a quick succession to down Ajax Sports Club by an odd goal in seven the Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium in the capital yesterday. Sonali led the first half 4-1.
Tauseef Ahmed sent the Bankers into lead in the 15th minute. Ajax though turned the match to a lively one with Rahat Sarwar drawing level in the 19th minute.
Sonali Bank soon took the match in their command by slamming home three goals in the next 15 minutes. Ajit Kumar Ghosh produced the second goal, while Rabbi Salehin Rocky produced the next two goals just before the short whistle.
The Bankers looked to be a relaxed team after the breather and taking the advantage of it Ajax reduced two more goals through Rahat Sarwar and Shahidul Islam.
Sadharan Bima came from behind to outplay Azad Sporting Club by 5-1. Sajib Hossain netted the lone goal for Azad.  Ziaura Rahman, Mamun Mortaza, Shamim Miah, Mohsin Billah and Faisal Hossain scored one each for Bima.
The first phase of the league in nearing to be completed. Usha Krira Chakra were leading the table with 28 points from ten matches, while Abahani followed them with 26. The two teams will clash in the last math of the fist-leg.
