IU admission test begins Nov 19
KUSHTIA: The admission test for the first year honours courses of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia under the academic session of 2016-17 will begin on November 19 and continue till on November 23, registrar office sources said.
The decision came from an emergency meeting of IU admission committee held today at Vice-Chancellor's (VC's) office here. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker presided over the meeting while Pro-VC Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, Acting Registrar S M Abdul Latif, different faculties' deans, Proctor Prof M Mahbubar Rahman, Students' Adviser Prof M Anwar Hossain were present, among others.
NSU hands over two ambulances to 2 hospitals
North South University (NSU) has provided two ambulances to two hospitals on Wednesday, marking the 24th founding anniversary of the university, says a press release.
MA Kashem, chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU handed over two ambulances to Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College and the Tareque Memorial Hospital through a formal handing over ceremony.
Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, member secretary, Major General (retd) Abdul Hafiz Mallik, Shahana Yasmin Shampa, member, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust along with other officials of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust, Museum and Zaiton Binti Sulaiman, chief executive officer, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College received the ambulance on behalf of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College in the ceremony.
Imdadul Haq Milon, editor, Kaler Kantho, attended the ceremony as special guest where Professor Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor, deans, academic and administrative heads of NSU graced the ceremony with their presence.
Milestone College holds iftar mahfil
Milestone College organised a special doa and iftar mahfil on Wednesday at central hall, says a press release.
Director of the Ahsania Institute of Sufijam Md Ismail Mia was present at the doa mahfil and iftar as chief guest.
Advisor of Milestone College Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd), Principal of Milestone College Md Shahidul Islam, Administrative Principal Lt Colonel M Kamaluddin Bhuiyan (retd), and Administrative director Md Masud Alam were honorable guest at the programme.
Departmental heads, all teacher, a large number of officers and stuffs are attended the dua mahfil and iftar.
DU gets Tk 87 lakh donation
Dhaka University (DU) received a donation of Tk 87.40 lakh for repairing and beatifying Arts Building and adjacent different historical structures.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique received a cheque from ACI Foundation Limited Chairman Anis-ud-Daula at a function at the VC office adjacent lounge yesterday. Arts Faculty Dean Prof Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, Business Studies Faculty Dean Prof Shibli Rubayat-ul Islam, chairmen of different departments under Arts faculty, Executive Director of ACI Foundation Dr Arif Daula and Sushmita Anis were present on the occasion.
Prof Arefin thanked ACI foundation for providing financial assistance to repair and beautify the historical structures of the campus including Arts Building, Aparajeyo Bangla and Bat-tala.
