46 BNP men acquitted

A court in Barisal yesterday acquitted all 46 leaders and workers of Bangladesh nationalist party (BNP) of Barisal district and city unit and accused in police assault and violence cases.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey handed down the verdict after examining 12 whitenesses and evidences. According the case brief, accused of the cases were brought out procession in Fakirbari area of the city on November 27, 2010 afternoon. When police cordoned off them, they attacked police and created violence that injured 4 policemen.  SI Faisal of Kotwali Model Thana filed a case against 200 and police submitted charge sheet against the accused 46 persons.
