Three members of a family were killed and 15 people were injured as a bus plunged into a ditch off the Rangpur-Bogra Highway in Pirganj upazila yesterday evening, reports UNB. The deceased could not be identified yet. But they comprise a couple and their three-month-old child. Officer-in-Charge of Pirganj Police Station Rejaul Karim said a Rangpur-bound bus of ‘BTRC Paribahan’ from Gaibandha fell into the ditch near Angra Bridge on the highway around 7pm after its driver lost control over the steering as one of the front wheels of the bus was punctured, leaving three people dead on the spot and 15 other passengers injured. Of the injured, two people were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in a critical condition while the rest were being treated in a local hospital. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue.
