Nine ‘robbers’ held in Jessore

Benapole: Police arrested nine alleged robbers along with one pistol from Kholadanga area in Jessore town early yesterday, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Iqbal, 32, Selim, 22, Khorshed, 30, Ripon Hossain, 30, Asanur Rahman, 37, Kamruzzaman Titu, 26, Hannan, 28, Alauddin Hossain Raju, 28, and Mafijul Islam, 27.
Sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station Sheikh Habibur Rahman said tipped off that a gang of robbers were preparing to commit robbery in the area, a team of police conducted a drive there at about 1:15am. Later, they arrested the nine alleged robbers while three others managed to flee the scene.
