Husband kills wife in Mymensingh

A woman was allegedly killed by husband in Trishal upazila headquarters early yesterday.
The victim was identified as Sabina Begum, 35, wife of Azizul Islam of Balipara area in Trishal.Quoting victim’s father Abdul Matin, a farmer hailing
from Akhrile village in Trishal, Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station, said Sabina, a divorcee and mother of a five-year old boy, married Azizul, a truck driver of Balipara two months ago without family consent and they had been living at a rented house at Trishal upazila headquarters.
It was also the second marriage of Azizul. Matin had no relation with his daughter or her husband since their marriage, police said.
Local people found the body of Sabina on the floor of the house around 9.00am yesterday and informed police.
Police suspected that Sabina might be strangled following family feud.
Injury marks were found around the neck of the victim, police said.
Azizul is absconding since the incident.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Victim’s father filed a case with Trishal Police Statio accusing Azizul.
