One held with 8,000 pieces yaba tablets

MADARIPUR: The detective Police detained an alleged drug peddler along with 8,000 pieces of yaba tablet from Kawrakandi Ferry ghat area in Shibchar upazila of the district on Sunday, reports BSS.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Elias Ahmed, a native of Ukhia upazila of Cox’bazar district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of detective police of Madaripur district conducted a raid in the area and arrested him with the yaba tablets.
Mohammad Qumrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Madaripur detective branch, said the yaba tablets consignment is going to Khulna from Cox’s Bazar through Kawrakandi route.
Later, a case was recorded against arrested person under the Narcotic Controlled Act with Shibchar thana in this connection.
