BCB’s HP to adopt new approach

Sports Reporter

The intensive training programme of BCB’s High Performance for the 2016 season is scheduled to kick start on July after the Eid vacation with the new objective and different approach.
This time the team management will give more emphasis on holding tours in foreign condition at the fag end of the programme. Along with that, they will hold a special session by foreign experienced coaches or expertise, who will work as consultant.
In this regard, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, national manager of BCB Game Development, said that they will try to do what they can’t do last year for the High Performance team.
“There will be different phases in the programme. In one part of the programme, technical matters will be discussed and that will then be applied in match condition. We’ve plans to go aboard and see how they can perform in away condition. And this  will be the basic structure of the programme,” said Nazmul Abedeen yesterday.
“We’ll try to fetch experts from abroad to get involved in this programme alongside the locals experts and experienced players. The tour in foreign condition will be held at the fag end of the programme and that will be in September. But we’re yet to decide where to go. We’re working on it and soon confirm it,” Fahim told media after meeting with new HP coach Simon Helmot at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The national manager of the Game Development said that they have inked deal with Simon for the next few months.
“The contract with the coach is that he will initially work with the HP programme this year and then we will go onto extension depending on the competition we have in future,” he explained about Simon’s appointment.
Drawing a contrast between the past and the present programme, Nazmul Abedeen said, “We couldn’t do few things last time which include touring abroad and could not also bring experts from abroad. But we’ll try to sure make these things happen this time.”
“In case of selection, we’ve followed a different method as advised by the selectors. The objective of the programme will be different as we’ll concentrate on the need of the national team.”
“Along with that, the efforts will be made to reduce the gap between the skills of a national team player and that of an intermediate level player. The main target will be to present at least two to three cricketers for the national pipeline,” he opined.
