The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against four people, including three engineers of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), for allegedly causing a loss of Tk 1.42 crore to public money.
ACC deputy director SM Rafiqul Islam filed the case against them with Gendaria Police Station in the capital, Commission’s public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The case was filed against DNCC superintending engineer Mesbahul Karim, assistant engineers Mozibur Rahman, now chairman of Bauphal upazila, Patuakhali, and Nirmal Chanra Dey and owner of M/s Abul and Brothers Abul Hossain Chowdhury.
Meanwhile, ACC officer Rafiqul Islam arrested Mesbahul Karim from city’s Gulshan area on Monday, Pranab said. According to the first information report (FIR), M/s Abul and Brothers had got a Tk 2.02-lakh work of then Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) to construct a building at Doyaganj Sweeper Colony in the capital.
