Ctg BCL secretary Roni gets bail

The High Court yesterday granted interim bail to Chittagong city Chhatra League general secretary Nurul Ajim Roni in a firearms case, reports BSS.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice M Akram Hossain Chowdhury passed the order.
"Roni has already secured bail in a case for exerting influence on recently held union parishad elections.
Now he has been granted bail in the arms case, so there is no legal bar in setting him free," said  senior lawyer SM Rezaul Karim.
A mobile court sentenced Roni to two-year imprisonment on May 7 as Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained him with a nine mm pistol, 15 rounds of bullet, Tk 26,000 outside a polling station during the recently held union parishad polls.
