Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) yesterday realised Taka 3.28 lakh as fines from 30 business establishments on charges of different offences, reports BSS.
DNCRP in Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi inspected different markets and fined the business establishments, a press release said in the capital. DNCRP Dhaka office fined Ananda Confectionary Taka 16,000, Mojnu Fruits shop Taka 5,000, Mita store 25,000, Postal Store Taka 30,000, Volu Mangsho Bitan Taka 2,000 and Mahatab Mangsho Bitan 2,000 at Kafrul area in the capital for many offences including selling products without mentioning the maximum retail price (MRP) and date expired commodities. DNCRP also penalised Namiba Restaurant Taka 30,000 at Tejgaon area for preparing foods in unhygienic environment.
DNCRP fined four business establishments Taka 15,500 at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area and Mirpur area for selling foods without MRP.
The directorate also penalised 11 business establishments Taka 44,000 in the capital's Shah Ali and Pallabi area for preparing foods in unhygienic environment. In separate drives, DNCRP fined five business entities Taka 1,40,000 in Chittagong and two business establishments Taka 14,000 at Rajshahi for the same offences, the release added.
