Two persons were killed in separate rail accidents in Sylhet and Mymensingh yesterday and Wednesday. In Sylhet: A physically challenged teenage boy was crushed to death by a train at Katalpur Rail crossing under Fenchuganj upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS. The deceased was identified as Saidur Rahman, 13, son of Fajlur Rahman, a resident of Katalpur-Fakirpara village of the upazila. Police said a Sylhet-bound Udayan Express train from Chittagong crushed the boy when he was walking on the rail track in the area. He died on the spot. Our BAU correspondent adds: A youth was killed after being hit by a train on Mymensingh-Dhaka route on Bangladesh Agricultural University campus on Wednesday while he was walking on the rail track.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Momin, 18, son of Abdul Monaem hailed from Fokirikanda area in Mymensingh sadar upazila. Alim Uddin, sub-inspector of Mymensingh railway police, said the train hit the youth in the area at around 10:00am, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
