Drug peddler gets jail term

A mobile court here on Wednesday convicted a peddler and sentenced him to six-month imprisonment for possessing yaba tablets.  Shivalaya Upazila Nirbahi Officer and the judge of mobile court AKM Galib Khan awarded jail term to Naim Mia, 23, son of Fazar Ali of Mohadebpur village under Shivalaya upazila of the district for peddling yaba tablets. Inspector of Narcotic Department in Manikganj Md. Saiful Islam said that Naim was a yaba peddler and he supplied the pills in deferent areas of the district. The Narcotic Department conducted a drive at his house at around 12:00 noon on the day and found 30 pieces of yaba pills from his home after searching, the inspector said adding that they arrested Naim with the yaba pills and appeared him before the mobile court.
