National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPORT) has suggested to run round-the-clock childbirth services in all the Union Health and Family Welfare Centres across the country, reports UNB. The NIPORT came up with the suggestion based on its survey report of Bangladesh Demography and Health Survey (BDHS)-2014.
The NIPORT unveiled the report at a discussion meeting, titled ‘Practicables in Developing Running Programme on Health, Population and Nutrition’, held at the Health and Family Welfare Ministry yesterday.
It also suggested providing emergency childbirth services round-the-clock in at least two hospitals in a district. The report also recommended reducing cesarean operation. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present at the discussion as chief guest and State Minister for Health and Family Affairs Zahid Malik as special guest.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said,”We are not satisfied over the quality of health services. We will take necessary steps to expand the quality of the services.”
