The parliamentary standing committee on Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry yesterday recommended to bring all Bangladeshi expatriate workers under insurance coverage, reports BSS. The committee in its 12th meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban suggested for providing assistance to the expatriate workers in the country’s schools, colleges, hospitals and courts. The committee was informed that the 23-member Inter-ministerial Vigilance Task Force committee led by ministry is taking legal action against corrupt recruiting agencies, travel agencies and Hajj and Umarh agencies to check human trafficking. President of the committee Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun presided over the meeting while committee members Whip Shahab Uddin, Monnujan Sufian, M Israfil Alam, Mahfuzur Rahman and Ayen Uddin were present. Acting secretary of the ministry and senior officials of the parliament secretariat were also present.
