Review of ADP implementation status
Planning minister holds meeting with secretaries

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal yesterday held meeting with the senior secretaries and secretaries concerned of all ministries to review the implementation status of the annual development programme (ADP) for current fiscal ending this month, reports BSS.
The minister asked the secretaries about the status of their ministries and divisions, and was assured that the level of ADP implementation would be no less than that of the last four years, said an official handout.
Mustafa Kamal said proper implementation of ADP was a must to accelerate countrys economic growth.
He also stressed on team building by skilled manpower and observed that the success of a development project would largely depend on recruitment of efficient and skilled project directors who have sound knowledge on their respective subjects.
I urge you all to appoint right people for the right project. Please recruit persons with enough technical knowledge for projects, especially for projects with technicality, he said in the meeting held at the NEC Bhaban in the city.
If skilled manpower are not available, the minister said, a mechanism of outsourcing should be developed to implement projects on time. The project efficiencies and transparencies should also be increased, he observed.
The minister touched upon the ongoing mega projects, including Matarbari, and said three ministries-- planning, finance and public administration -- would work together to expedite the project implementations. He, however, expressed his satisfaction over the progress made so far in these projects.
