RCC to collect owners, 
tenants’ information

RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has set to start collecting information of the house-owners and the families who are residing in rented houses in the city soon for the sake of ensuring security to the city dwellers, reports BSS.
The city corporation authority has asked its officials and staffs concerned to take full preparation in this regard immediately so that the works are completed timely. It has also sought all-out cooperation of all quarters. The decision was taken in a work plan and policy-making meeting held at the conference hall of the city corporation on Wednesday with Nizam-Ul Azim, Mayor-in-Charge of RCC, in the chair.
Among others, Panel Mayors Rashedul Hassan and Tahera Begum, Ward Councilors Mustaque Hossain and Belal Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer Syeda Zebinnissa Sultana and Chief Health Officer Anzuman Ara Begum also spoke.
All ward councilors, secretaries, conservancy supervisors and others concerned of the corporation also attained.
Mayor Azim said dynamism has been brought to every service delivery sectors including financial management and administrative activities. He put emphasis on increasing income and expenditure reduction. Reviewing all its present development activities he said the city corporation has intensified conservancy drives giving emphasis on the issue of improving the city’s environmental condition.
The meeting also asked the conservancy officials and employees to expedite the drive of mosquito elimination. Azim urged all officials and staffs concerned to remain alert so that the conservancy activities are functioned properly and smoothly for maintaining a healthy atmosphere.
Apart from this, he urged the city dwellers not to dump solid wastes into drains, open spaces and water bodies which cause environmental pollution and health hazards.  
He told the meeting that the city corporation has established 14 secondary points in where the collected household wastes and garbage are being preserved before removal to the landfill. Six more secondary transformer stations are being set up at a cost of Taka 6.25 crore.
On completion of the construction works, there has a plan of setting up eight other points in future. Step has been taken to set up five more modern slaughter houses in addition to sanitary landfills.
